Legasta Kyoto Higashiyama Sanjo felt like my favorite spot in Japan! Super clean, comfortable room, and loved the tatami flooring. Perfect walking distance to Higashiyama Station and nearby temples. Only downside was the small room size, but the design was so lovely that I didn't mind much.

There are complimentary coffee machines on level 1, a nice touch for those in need of a caffeine fix during the day. The free coffee and tea available throughout the day are solid perks for a refreshment break.
The room cleanliness left much to be desired. we only got a proper cleaning once during our 6-night stay, which meant trash was picked up only once as well. The funky odors in some rooms were concerning, as was the noise from the loud air conditioning. Breakfast options were repetitive with just the basics each morning, which didn’t really cut it. There’s no onsite laundry, although there is a nearby coin laundry, and the strong humidity smell in the basement room was a big turn-off.

The free coffee and tea available during the day was a nice touch, allowing us to refresh ourselves at any time.
During our 6-night stay, our room was only cleaned once, which meant trash was only picked up once and towels were changed only once. this was inconvenient, especially traveling with a baby.

this place had the audacity to only clean my room once during my stay! trash piled up, and they even threw my stuff around like it was nothing. plus, no one offered me an upgrade or even basic compensation for the inconvenience. i almost thought about leaving a good review, but i just couldn’t.
